
Everett Falls to Kamloops in BC Tonight

January 4, 2005: Tonight at Sport Mart Place in Kamloops, BC the Kamloops Blazers defeat the Everett Silvertips by a score of 4-2. This is the third of five meetings between the two teams with Everett out on top 2-1 in the series. The Silvertips' season record fell to 19-12-6-2 with 46 points. Everett stays in second in the US Division, still five points behind the leader, the Seattle Thunderbirds. Kamloops improves their record to 15-21-2-2, still fourth in the BC Division.
Rookie Karel Hromas started the scoring for both the Silvertips and the game at 2:59 in the first period with a one timer that slid past Devan Dubnyk. This is Hromas' 11th goal on the year. Assisting him was Assistant Captain Torrie Wheat. Kamloops tied it up eight minutes later with a shot from Raymond Macias and an assist from Roman Tesliuk. Everett out shot Kamloops 10-8 through the first period.
It was a fast and furious start to the second. Early in the period Ryan Bender put one in the back of the net unassisted. This was Bender's first goal on the year. A little over a minute later Derek Lewis fired the tying shot from the left wing side and found the net with help from teammate Randy King at 4:33. This is Lewis' first career Western Hockey League goal. Not giving up, Richard Jasovsky put another goal on the board from Raymond Macias and Ryan Bender, to bring Kamloops to a 3-2 lead over Everett. Shots through the second were Everett 5 and Kamloops 10.
On a power play at 5:56 in the third, Roman Tesliuk blasted a shot from the center point and extended the Blazers' lead to 4-2. Richard Jasovsky and Moises Gutierrez recorded assists on the goal. The Silvertips did not register a third period shot on goal until 19:02. Shots at the end of the period were Everett 1 and Kamloops 4.
Final shots on goal for the hockey game were Everett 16 and Kamloops 22. On the power play the Silvertips went 0 for 4 while Kamloops went 1 for 4. Michael Wall falls to 14-11-5 while Devan Dubnyk rises to 12-21-2.
The Silvertips are back in action on Friday, January 7th against the Spokane Chiefs. The puck drops at 7:05pm.
