Everblades Raise Nearly $200,000 for Charity in 2009-10

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades raised over $190,000 for charity during the 2009-10 season. Various programs contributed to this number including; themed nights with jersey auctions, fundraiser ticket programs, donations and concession group fundraisers.
The Everblades held three theme nights in 2009-10 during which the team wore specialty jerseys that were auctioned off live after the games. The Everblades wore special camouflage jerseys for Military Night on November 13, then donned pink themed jerseys for their annual "Pink in the Rink" night on February 20 before closing out their specialty jersey night's on March 6 with special Boston Red Sox themed jerseys.
Combined the three nights raised over $51,000 with the largest coming on "Pink in the Rink" which raised a total of $20,320! The money raised that night helped benefit several cancer charities including the Cancer Alliance of Naples, Cape Coral Relay for Life, Barbara's Friends, The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and the Susan G. Komen For the Cure fund.
In addition to the themed night jersey auctions, the Everblades helped various youth organizations through their ticket fundraising programs. The Everblades organization donated just over $20,000 to these groups throughout the course of the 2009-10 season.
Organizations also volunteered to sell concessions during Everblades games in order to raise money for their groups or clubs. In total, $120,674 was donated by the Everblades and Germain Arena to these groups during the course of the year.
The Everblades also helped numerous non-profit organizations with the donation of autographed items including jerseys, puck and sticks, along with tickets to Everblades games for silent auctions.
Since their inception, the Florida Everblades and Germain Arena have now donated nearly $1,000,000 to local charities through these community outreach programs.
