The Eugene Emeralds added one more to the win column as they beat the Spokane Indians 8-1.
Jake Wong took the mound for the Emeralds tonight. He pitched a strong five innings as he only allowed five hits, one run, no walks, and struck out eight. He was awarded the win tonight, which brings it to a total of six wins on the season.
Spokane jumped on the board first thanks to a double on a fly ball to center field by Hunter Goodman. The Indians would not score for the rest of the game.
Riley Mahan, who was recently brought up from San Jose, scored Eugene's first two runs. He hit his first High-A home run over left-center field.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Emeralds blew the game wide open. It started with a single on a fly ball to center field from left fielder Jairo Pomares which led to Vaun Brown coming home. Patrick Bailey kept the inning alive with a sacrifice fly to left field, and Hunter Bishop scored.
Luis Toribio ended the inning with a grand slam to right field. His 13th home run of the season would be the last time either team scored for the rest of the game.
Eugene will look to keep this streak alive tomorrow for the fifth game of the series. First pitch will take place at 5:05 pm P.T., and the game will be available to watch on MiLB.TV.
