
ESPN Radio to call games for changing Polar Twins

[WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.] â The Winston-Salem Polar Twins announced today an agreement with ESPN Radio 1590 AM to broadcast four games this season from LJVM Coliseum Annex. December 9 marks the first broadcast by ESPN Radio 1590 AM. Join on-air personality Bill Madden for a Polar Twins pre-game party live from Cactus Jack's from 4-7 p.m. Cactus Jack's is located at the corner of University Parkway and Deacon Boulevard, less than a mile from LJVM Annex. Madden will then call all of the live action when the Polar Twins face off against the Knoxville Ice Bears beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The next ESPN Radio 1590 AM broadcast will take place Monday, January 17 when the Polar Twins take on Fayetteville for a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day matinee at 1:00 p.m. Bill Madden will also provide play-by-play on January 21 against Fayetteville and January 30 when the Asheville Aces visit Winston-Salem, both games beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Polar Twins fans can also listen to ESPN Radio 1590 AM at 7:45 a.m. this Tuesday as ESPN Radio correspondent Scott Bannister talks with Bill Madden about some upcoming visits to Davidson County Boys and Girls Clubs by Polar Twins players.
ROSTER CHANGES
Winston-Salem Head Coach Bryan Wells announced today the addition of forwards Jason Bone and Nobumasa Kinugasa to the Polar Twins lineup. Wells also placed defenseman John Watson on waivers.
Bone joins the Polar Twins after playing 12 games this season with the Richmond Riverdogs of the United Hockey League. The 6-foot, 210-pound right winger from Keeseekoowenin, Manitoba spent two seasons in the United Hockey League with the Adirondack IceHawks, appearing in 99 regular season contests, contributing a total of 11 points and amassing 552 penalty minutes.
Signed to a three-game tryout was Nobumasa Kinugasa. The Tokyo, Japan native spent eight games with the Asheville Aces, scoring two goals in that span.
The Polar Twins finish out their long road stand this weekend with a game tonight in Knoxville at 7:30 p.m. and a visit to Fayetteville Saturday for a 7:35 p.m. faceoff. The Twins then return to home ice for three games in three nights next week, beginning Thursday, December 9. Great seats are still available for all games.
