(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos mourn the passing of Wes Montgomery, a long-time friend and colleague of the team.

A popular Edmonton radio personality for more than 40 years, Montgomery was the long-time host of the annual Eskimo Dinner and the CFL Coach of the Year event which was held in Edmonton for 41 years. Montgomery's voice was heard by countless numbers of Eskimo fans as he served as both the in-stadium PA announcer and the Esks' radio play-by-play man for a three-year stint in the early 1990's.

"Wes was a fixture at our annual dinner for many, many years and entertained thousands of Edmontonians in that time. He will be missed tremendously by the club and we offer our deepest sympathies to his family and friends," said Eskimo C.O.O. Rick LeLacheur.
