Esks' Maciocia and Kepley heading south

Edmonton, AB – Eskimo offensive coordinator, Danny Maciocia, announced today that Eskimo defensive assistant Dan Kepley will join his coaching staff for Canada's entry in the NFL Global Junior Championship VIII to be held in Houston next January.

Maciocia, who was named head coach last April, believes the quality of his staff will be a great asset to the team. "Their expertise, tremendous communication skills and passion for football will be key elements in the team's success and will benefit each player's development. It is a great pleasure and a privilege for me to be surrounded by such an exceptional group of coaches."

Maciocia's staff of eight will be in Montreal for the team's final selection camp on December 20, 21 and 22. This camp will bring together 90 of the country's best football players under the age of 20. Team Canada's 36-man roster will be announced December 23.

The NFL Global Junior Championship VIII is an international tournament and an official Super Bowl XXXVIII event to be held in Houston, from 28 to 31 January 2004. Team Canada will compete against teams from Japan, Mexico, Russia and United States. Team Canada won the Gold in 2000 and the Silver in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
