(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos officially announced today the signing of free agent non-imports, defensive end Adrian Baird and offensive lineman Fabio Filice.

Baird was a fifth round selection (37th overall) of the Ottawa Renegades in the 2005 CFL Canadian Draft. He appeared in one game his rookie season, spending the rest of the year on the practice roster. He joined the Bombers for the 2006 season, becoming a special teams leader with 12 special teams tackles over 17 regular season games. Last season, he played in all 18 games, both playoff games and the Grey Cup. He continued to be a special teams demon, recording 16 special teams tackles in the regular season. He also had two special teams tackles in the playoffs and two more in the Grey Cup.

Filice was selected by Hamilton in the 2nd round (15th overall) of the 2005 CFL Canadian Draft. After sitting out the first 13 games due to injury, he made his CFL debut October 7, 2005 against Ottawa and would play in the final five games of the season. In 2006, Filice played in all 18 regular season games with the 'Cats. He was released during 2007 training camp. On July 31, he signed with Toronto and played one game before being released in October.
