Alexandria Aces News Release

Alexandria, La. - August 15, 2008 - Errors were costly again as the Alexandria Aces committed four errors in an 8-7 loss to the Amarillo Dillas at Potter County Memorial Stadium Friday. In the bottom of the ninth, the Dillas' Stephen Douglas was walked on four pitches to lead-off the inning. After a sacrifice bunt moved Douglas to third, Brian Bueno was able to drive Douglas home. Bueno hit a groundball up the middle that was cut-off by shortstop Rafael Ozuna. Ozuna's throw to first took Brian Nichols, who dove to keep the ball from getting by him, off the bag allowed Douglas to score the winning run from first. The Dillas scored an unearned run in the eighth to tie the game at 7-7. With one out, Jonathan Reynoso doubled and moved to third on a wild pitch. B.J. Litchfield got the second out on a grounder to short, keeping Reynoso at third. Andrew Wong then hit a high chopper to third, but Homy Ovalles' throw to first was high, allowing Reynoso to score. The Dillas, ahead 4-2 in the fifth, had Danny Bravo reach on an error by Homy Ovalles. A walk to A.J. Johnson and two batters later, Sam McLain doubled both runners home to give the Dillas a 6-2 lead. The Aces and Dillas will be continued Saturday as Alejandro Martinez will go for the Aces. Game time is 7:05.
