ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves continue their longest road trip of the season (11 days, three cities, nine games) as they open up a weekend series against the Connecticut Defenders (San Francisco Giants) at Dodd Stadium. The SeaWolves dropped their second consecutive series to a Northern Division club as they were shut out in a marathon 11-inning game on Thursday night. The 'Wolves have now lost five of their last seven games heading into the weekend...Historically, the SeaWolves have not fared well at Dodd Stadium. However, that was not the case in 2008 as the 'Wolves picked up their first ever series sweep in Norwich...The SeaWolves are 21-13 against Northern Division opponents. The 'Wolves are in a stretch of 15 consecutive games to wrap up the Northern Division portion of their schedule. Erie is 8-2-1 in series against the EL North...The SeaWolves road struggles have continued on the current trip. The 'Wolves are tied with Binghamton for the fewest road wins in the EL. Since July 8, the SeaWolves are 3-10 away from Jerry Uht Park. The 'Wolves have also dropped six of their last seven road contests...Despite the rough start to the road trip, the Southern Division wild card race remains the same. The top four teams in the EL South lost on Thursday meaning Erie is still a game behind wild card leading Reading and 1.5 games ahead of four place Bowie...Hitting with runners in scoring position hurt the SeaWolves in the New Britain series. The club went 2-for-28 with RISP in the series, 0-for-12 in yesterday's loss and the club is currently 0-for the last-22 with RISP going back to Tuesday...Erie's last road series win July 4-6 at Binghamton.
