
Erie Falls to Guelph 5-2 in Season Finale

ERIE, PA - The Erie Otters returned home on Saturday evening for their final game of the 2018-2019 season to take on the Guelph Storm. The teams traded opportunities throughout the opening period, but neither could break the ice and the game remained scoreless after 20 minutes of play.
Early in the second, Guelph broke through with a goal from Zachary Roberts to put them ahead. MacKenzie Entwistle followed up minutes later with a redirected shot that beat Erie goaltender Cole Ceci to extend their lead to two. In the closing moments of the period, Erie would march back and tie it with goals from Hayden Fowler and Gera Poddubnyi to enter the final period tied at two.
On and early third period powerplay chance, MacKenzie Entwistle found the back of the net for the second time, putting the Storm back on top. Minutes later, Ty Collins followed up with a goal of his own to regain the two goal lead. In the final minute, MacKenzie Entwistle scored into an empty net to complete the hat-trick for a 5-2 final score.
Erie finishes the 2018-2019 season with a 26-38-3-1 record, improving on their 2017-2018 campaign.
