Leader of the Pack...Rookie Defensive Lineman Tim Green currently leads the team in Tackles with 28 total, tackles for a loss (8.5), and sacks (5.5). This is nothing new for the Lincoln University product who once led NCAA Division II in sacks per game (1.5).

Southern Comfort...The Explosion are 2-1 in crossover games this season vs. the CIFL Southern Division. This weeks contest against the Bluegrass Warhorses will be the final Southern Division crossover game for Erie in 2014.

Home Winning Streak...Erie enters week 6 with a 12 game home winning streak dating back to the 2012 season. The Explosion's last loss at home was on April 22, 2012 to the Cincinnati Commandos.

Like he Never Left...Linebacker Jon D'Angelo had a monster game in his first game back after briefly retiring following the 2013 season. D'Angelo had 12 Total Tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 2 interceptions in his return to the field.

Nose for the Endzone...Rookie Running Back Nate Burney may only have 25 carries on the season but has converted 5 of those for touchdowns. The University of Akron product leads the team in scoring with 38 total points through week 5 of the 2014 season.

Temple Tuff...The Erie Explosion defense has 3 former Temple Owls on the Rosters. Defensive Back Maurice Jones has recorded 26 total tackles and 2 interceptions. Linebacker Stephen Johnson has recored 16 total tackles, 1 sack, and 1 interception, and former Owl Vaughn Carraway recently joined the franchise following his release from the Pittsburgh Power of the AFL.
