
CIFL Names Players of the Week

The Continental Indoor Football League would like to announce the Player's of the Week for weeks 4, 5, 6 of the CIFL season.
Week 4
Offensive Player of the Week is the Saginaw, MI native and running back of the Saginaw Sting, DeShawn Hayes. Hayes led the Sting offense with 4 touchdowns in their win over the Detroit Thunder (71-16). DeShawn had 2 touchdowns rushing and 2 receiving with 44 yards total rushing. He played his college ball at Northwood University.
Defensive Player of the Week is from the Erie Explosion, defensive back David Castillo. Castillo hails from East Stroudsburg, PA and attended East Stroudsburg University. He had an INT return for touchdown and 5 tackles in the Explosion's win over the Chicago Biltz.
Week 5
Offensive Player of the Week is a Stranton, PA native and quarterback of the Saginaw Sting AJ McKenna. McKenna led the Saginaw offense in their win over the Erie Explosion (45-27). He was 17 of 31 for 147 yards. AJ played his college ball at Albany State University.
Defensive Player of the Week is from the Northern Kentucky River Monsters, linebacker David James. David hails from Owensboro, KY and attended Kentucky Wesleyan University. He had a game high 14 tackles in River Monster's loss to the Marion Blue Racer's.
Special Teams Player of the Week is also from the River Monster's, defensive back Dekota Marshall shined as he had 3 kick returns for 95 total yards. Northern Kentucky lost their contest to the Marion Blue Racer's 27-20.
Week 6
Offensive Player of the Week is a Chicago, IL native and running back of the Chicago Biltz Bryant Picassio. Picassio led the Blitz offense with 2 touchdowns in their win over the Detroit Thunder (59-6). He had 7 carries for 72 yards.
Defensive Player of the Week is also from the Erie Explosion, linebacker Jon D'Angelo. Jon attended Marietta University. He had 12 tackles and 2 INT's in the Explosion's loss to Marion. Jon hails from Pittsburgh, PA.
Special Teams Player of the Week is also from the Chicago Biltz, kicker Jules Harshbarger shined as she was a perfect 7 of 7 on extra points and added a field goal in the Biltz's win over the Thunder. Jules attended Benedictine University.
