Bismarck Bobcats News Release
FRISCO, TX - The Bismarck Bobcats will take their first official step toward the 2013-14 North American Hockey League campaign Tuesday as they will make eight selections in the 2013 NAHL Entry Draft.
Though it has only been three weeks since the 2012-13 year wrapped up at the Robertson Cup Tournament, the Bobcats' front office has had its attention on the upcoming season since the middle of May.
"With our Pre-Draft Camps in Denver [May 17-19] and Minneapolis [May 24-26], we have been evaluating talent for the new season since four days after the Robertson Cup," noted Bobcats head coach and general manager Layne Sedevie, who is presiding over his fourth offseason at the helm for the Cats. "That's not even to mention the in-season recruiting and tender-signing done by [assistant coach] Garrett Roth and [scout] Aaron Venasky."
Thanks to a 35-16-9 finish last season, the Bobcats will draft in 18th position in each round.
Each offseason, the NAHL Entry Draft is used for teams to fill out their 30-man protected list. The Bobcats come into the Draft with a 22-man protected list, including 12 returning players from the squad that captured the 2013 Central Division title:
