Port Huron Fighting Falcons News Release

PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Fighting Falcons, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are in the final stages of their preparations for Tuesday's NAHL Draft.

The team held their Pre-Draft Tryout Camp last weekend in Mount Clemens, giving coaches and scouts a final look at over 80 players. At least three players earned their way to the team's draft board with their play over the weekend.

The team also recently completed a trade with the Coulee Region Chill, sending defenseman Dunk Abbott in exchange for a third-round draft pick.

"We are extremely focused on our preparations for the draft," said Head Coach and General Manager Michael Gershon. "The draft is a crucial part of building our team for next year, and is something our scouting staff has been working on since before our season had even ended.

"Our draft board includes players from the Pre-Draft Camp, players our scouts across the country have watched, and players from USHL camps," Gershon added. "We will leave no stone unturned in putting together the best team we can for next season."

Fans can get an inside look at the team's war room during the draft. The team will host a live stream of their conference room at the Quality Inn & Suites, where fans can view the team's coaching and scouting staff, and chat with team officials.

The Fighting Falcons will live-tweet their draft picks through their Twitter account, @PHhockeyNAHL.

The live stream of the war room will be hosted on popular broadcasting site Ustream. The team's account can be found on Ustream as Port Huron Fighting Falcons - NAHL. Links to the stream will be available on the team's website, Facebook page, and Twitter page as well.

The Fighting Falcons will return to McMorran Arena for their fourth NAHL season this fall. Season ticket packages start at just $175, and the first 25 fans to purchase two or more full season ticket packages will receive a free game-worn Fighting Falcons jersey.
