Port Huron Prowlers News Release
(Port Huron, MI) - The Port Huron Prowlers peppered Troy Passingham with 46 shots on Saturday night, but the Elmira goal keeper stole the show with a 44 save performance, backed by plenty of offense from his team.
The Enforcers scored early and often in a 7-2 win as Cal Miska needed just ten seconds from the opening face-off to light the lamp in the first period. For a second straight night the Enforcers jumped out to a three goal lead, as Cameron Yarwood connected on a 5-on-3 power play at 10:19 of the period, followed by a Sean Reynolds break away goal at 12:46.
Port Huron worked back into the game late in the opening stanza with goals from Dalton Jay and Austin Fetterly just 1:14 apart in the final five minutes of play.
The second period featured scoring chances at both ends of the rink, but only Elmira was taking advantage. The Enforcers scored four times in the period, with goals from Mike Chemello, Brandon Vuic, Dmytro Babenko (short handed0, and Sean Reynolds second goal of the game on a power play making it 7-2 after 40 minutes.
Passingham did the rest stopping 33 shots over the final two periods, including 17 in the third. The Prowlers return to action next weekend with a pair of games against the Mentor Icebreakers. Face-off on Friday is 7 PM, with a 6 PM puck drop next Saturday at McMorran Arena.
