Energy FC's 2019 Home Opener this Saturday

Energy FC's sixth season in the USL Championship began well last Saturday, as the Greens travelled to El Paso and beat expansion side El Paso Locomotive FC, 3-1, in front of over 10,000 fans at Southwest University Park. Forward Deshorn Brown scored two goals, including the second-fastest in league history (12 seconds), and was named to the Team of the Week.
The home opener, presented by Mercy, Official Medical Provider for Energy FC, is this Saturday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. CT at historic Taft Stadium. The Greens will take on second-year club Las Vegas Lights FC. That fixture last season proved to be one of the best of the season, as OKC defeated Las Vegas 6-4 in a match that was nationally televised on ESPNews.
In addition to the action on the pitch, there are a variety of things happening on matchday at Taft Stadium. Mercy is providing commemorative t-shirts for the first 2,000 fans in attendance. Kids Eat Free is also back for every home match in 2019, so all children ages 12 and under receive a free hot dog, snack and bottled water. The club is also happy to announce the return of Energy Assist's 50/50 raffle, where the winner splits the pot with a local 501(c)(3) organization.
This Energy FC squad is thought by many to be the most talented in the history of the club with uslchampionship.com writer John Arlia picking the team to make the playoffs, win the Western Conference and for forward Deshorn Brown to be in the race for the golden boot.
