OKLAHOMA CITY - Energy FC takes on the Rio Grande Valley Toros FC in the 1st round of the USL Playoffs. The match is slated to be played Saturday, October 1 at 7:30 p.m. (ct) at Toro Park in Edinburg, Texas.
Rio Grande Valley Toros FC finished with a record of 14-7-9 and earned the #2 seed in the Western Conference, while Energy FC finished with a record of 10-7-13 and earned the #7 seed in the Western Conference.
This season, Energy FC played the Rio Grande Valley Toros FC three times, posting a 0-1-2 mark. The last meeting was August 6 in South Texas when the teams played to a 0-0 draw.
The winner of the Energy FC / Rio Grande Valley Toros FC match plays the winner of the #3 seed Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC vs. #6 seed Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 match the weekend of October 7 - 9.
