OKLAHOMA CITY "" Although Energy FC has played their final regular season match, the team was able to secure the #2 seed in the Western Conference late Saturday evening.
A loss by the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC to LA Galaxy II combined with a tie by Sacramento Republic FC against Arizona United SC assures Energy FC of the #2 spot in the Western Conference, a first-round bye and a home match on Sunday, October 4 at historic Taft Stadium.
The top six teams in each conference make the postseason. The first round sees the #3 seed host the #6 seed and the #4 seed host the #5 seed. Winners of the first-round matches move on to face the #1 and #2 seeds. Energy FC hosts the winner of the match between the #3 seed and the #6 seed.
Complete seeding and opponents will be determined following the final regular season match in the Western Conference Tuesday evening between Sacramento Republic FC and the Orange County Blues.
