
Emeralds Use Eight Double to Blank Indians

SPOKANE, Wash. - Cole Wiper allowed four runs in the second inning, including three doubles, six Eugene batters had multi-hit games, and the Indians fell to the Emeralds 7-0 in front of 7,018 fans at Avista Stadium on Friday night. It was Yoke's $1 Family Feast Night presented by Yoke's Fresh Market and 92.9 ZZU. Eugene hit eight total doubles.
Wiper, a Bellevue, Wash., native, scattered seven hits in four innings, allowing a season-high five runs. He struck out three batters and walked just one. Luke Lanphere came on in relief and had four solid innings, giving up six hits but allowing only one run to score. Omarlin Lopez allowed one run on three hits in the ninth.
Spokane garnered seven hits in the contest. Two of them were courtesy of Jamie Potts, who raised his average to .229 in the designated hitter position. Northwest League All-Stars Dylan Moore and Yeyson Yrizarri had one hit in the game. Darius Day, Sherman Lacrus and Ti'Quan Forbes also had a hit.
The Indians return home once again tomorrow, Saturday, August 1st, for Fireworks Night presented by The Black Book, KREM 2-TV, 93.7 The Mountain and SportsRadio 1510 KGA.
