Elmira Stumbles in Albany

July 14, 2011 - Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) - Elmira Pioneers News Release

Elmira began a five game road trip in Albany last night at Bellizzi Stadium. The Dutchmen would jump out to take a 2-0 lead over the Elmira Pioneers in the first inning. They would tack on two more run in the second and third bringing the lead to 4-0.

The Pioneers would try to rally back in the sixth when Corey Keller laced a single to right field to drive in David Bishop and BJ Willis.

The short rally was not enough, as the Dutchmen would put on last run on the board to seal the victory last night of 5-2.

The Pioneers host the inaugural PGCBL All Star Game at Dunn Field on Monday, July 18th. Gates open at 5:05, and fans are invited to come early for the HR hitting contest beginning at 6:00.

A limited number of tickets are available for the Texas Roadhouse Picnic Buffet with featured speaker Tommy John who will sign autographs for picnic guests, a commemorative All-Star Game T-shirt, and a ticket to the August 3 game versus the Cooperstown Hawkeyes.
