Albany Dutchmen News Release
ALBANY-- When the Albany Dutchmen battle the Cooperstown Hawkeyes on Saturday night at Bob Bellizzi Field more than just the game will be of importance. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, the Dutchmen will be hosting a charity fundraiser with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society and Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
This is the third fundraiser of the season put on by Albany. Earlier this year the team hosted a softball game benefiting muscular dystrophy and a charity game for the Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center. The Dutchmen are driven to help fund local charitable organizations throughout the season.
Fans in attendance will be able to contribute to breast cancer research throughout the game. A player game-worn pink jersey will be given away in a silent auction to kick the night off, followed by a 50/50 and raffle with huge prizes. Some of top raffle prizes include a day for two at Saratoga National Golf Club with passes and golf cart included ($300 value), a $50 gift certificate to the Log Jam Restaurant and a free Rumors Spa massage & blow dry.
Saturday's game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. The first pitch of the game will be thrown out by a cancer survivor. For all information on raffle prizes please visit our Facebook event page for the Pink Game. For all Dutchmen information please visit www.dutchmenbaseball.com or follow us @DutchmenPGCBL.
