Elks lose to Kitsap 3-2, Split Squad falls 9-4

The Bend Elks dropped Game 1 of the 3 game series against the Kitsap Blue Jackets in the bottom of the 9th, falling by a score of 3-2.
The Elks got on the board first in the top of the 2nd as Tyler Christian doubled, advanced to third on a passed ball, and scored on an RBI groundout from Shawn O'Brien. Kitsap would respond by getting 2 in the bottom of the 4th after Kitsap catcher Claude Johnson singled, Sean Narby walked, Andrew Biancardi delivered an RBI single to score Johnson, and Evan Busby singled to score Narby, making the score 2-1.
Then in the top of the 9th, the Elks managed to tie the game at 2 as Royce Bollinger singled, advanced to 3rd on a single from Bo Walter, then scored on a Sacrifice Fly from Tyler Christian. However, in the bottom of the 9th the Kitsap Blue Jackets got a 1 out walk from Evan Busby, Mike Lonsdale singled to put Busby in scoring position, then Chris Murphy delivered a walk-off single to score Busby from second off of Elks reliever Daniel Grazzini, who blew his first save of the season.
The Elks will return to action tomorrow in Bremerton, 1st pitch scheduled for 6:35.
