PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Phoenix Suns announced today that they have assigned guard Elie Okobo to the Northern Arizona Suns. This is his first career assignment to the NBA G League.
Okobo (6-3, 190 pounds) has played 11 games (one start) for the Phoenix Suns this season, averaging 6.0 points and 2.3 assists in 15.1 minutes per game. The rookie played last night at the Oklahoma City Thunder, recording two points and five assists in 13 minutes.
His best game of the 2018-19 campaign came at the Thunder on Oct. 28, where he notched 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc, plus 5-of-6 from the free throw line, seven assists and five rebounds in 31 minutes.
Okobo, 21, was selected by the Phoenix Suns with the 31st overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Born in France, Okobo played the last three seasons with Pau-Lacq-Orthez in the LNB Pro A, France's top tier league.
The Northern Arizona Suns next play tonight against the Santa Cruz Warriors at the Prescott Valley Event Center at 6:30 p.m. MT. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
