Eight Players Signed To Roster
RICHMOND, VA.: The Richmond Revolution and SportsQuest announced today that they have signed 8 more players to their training camp roster for the 2010 season.
The Revolution hosted their second open player tryout this past Sunday at the RISE facility. The tryout and combine style workout was conducted by members of the Athletes Complete Training Source (ACTS) and the Revolution coaching staff. 25 players tried out for the team, four of which were signed to a contract at the conclusion of the event. The team also signed four other players that had verbally committed to the team. Joining the team for the 2010 season are: *QB Robbie Jenkins* - Jenkins previously played at Bridgewater College, Lubbock in the old Intense Football League and was the winning Quarterback for the AIFL champion Richmond Bandits. In 21 career starts with the Bandits, Jenkins sported a record of 19-2, throwing for 81 touchdowns and only 14 interceptions in 2006.
*DL Darius Robinson* - Robinson played his college ball at Virginia State University and was a student at Petersburg High School before playing for the Arkansas Twisters of the af2. During the 2008 season he compiled 16 tackles, 2 sacks as well as forcing and recovering 2 fumbles.
*WR/DB Joshua Floyd* - Floyd joins the Revolution after brief stints with the Sioux Falls Storm and Sioux City Bandits of the IFL. While at Chowan University he was a Division III All American honorable mention and the MVP of the Crystal Bowl.
*WR Donnie Avant *- Avant played at Virginia State University and is currently their Wide Receivers coach. He has no previous professional experience.
*DE/LB Nathan Fairley, Jr.* - Fairley last played for Elizabeth City State University, winning the CIAA championship while he was there. He has no previous professional experience.
*LB Louis Corum* - Corum will be a rookie this upcoming season, previously playing at Shepherd College where he won 3 WVIAC Championships while earning WVIAC All Conference honors and being named Div II National Defensive Player of the week once.
*RB Charles Madison* - Madison previously played at Shenandoah University and is a rookie.
*RB Brandon Isaiah* - Isaiah had previously verbally committed to the team. The former UVA standout has spent time in the AIFA, af2 and AFL.
*Revolution to hold dance team tryouts* The Richmond Revolution dance team will be holding their tryouts on Saturday, November 7th at the Premier Dance Studio in Richmond.
