Eight Fargo-Moorhead Players Named to AAPB All-Star Game

The American Association of Professional Baseball announced on Monday that infielder Leo Piña and pitchers Kevin McGovern, Sebastian Kessay, Tyler Grauer, and Alex DuBord have been named to the 2022 AAPB All-Star game. Right fielder John Silviano, first baseman Manuel Boscán, and designated hitter Drew Ward were announced as All-Star game starters last week. Fargo-Moorhead is tied with the Kansas City Monarchs for the most all-star selections (8) this season.
Leo Piña has been named the AAPB Batter of the Week two weeks in a row and currently leads the league with a .401 batting average. He has 19 extra-base hits and 24 runs batted in 36 games so far this season. John Silviano (.280, 12 HR, 39 RBI), Manuel Boscan (.323, 20 XBH, 36 RBI) and Drew Ward (.367, 13 HR, 36 RBI) round out the RedHawks all-star batters.
Fargo-Moorhead starting pitchers Kevin McGovern (5-1, 4.32 ERA) and Sebastian Kessay (5-0, 3.29 ERA) are both tied for the league lead in wins while Tyler Grauer (4-1, 2.63 ERA) has the fifth-best ERA in the AAPB. McGovern also has the second most strikeouts in the league (59). Closer Alex DuBord (1-0, 1.39 ERA) leads the league with 11 saves.
The American Association also announced that infielder Sam Dexter has a chance to join Piña as an All-Star reserve through the "Last Man In" voting contest. Dexter is one of six West Division players that fans can vote on through 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. More information on the voting process can be found at aabaseball.com.
The Chicago Dogs will host the 2022 American Association All-Star game at Impact Field in Rosemont, Ill. on July 11 and 12, 2022. Festivities include a skills competition, a home run derby, and a free concert. The All-Star Game will take place on Tuesday, July 12 at 7:00 p.m.
