Madison Capitols News Release

Madison, WI - Rosters for the 2015 CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game were released on Wednesday morning. Among those players selected was Madison Capitols goaltender Ryan Edquist (Lakeville, Minn.).

Madison drafted the 17-year-old Edquist in the third round of Phase I of the 2014 USHL Draft. He made his USHL debut last April 10 against Muskegon.

The University of Minnesota commit is coming off a spectacular junior season with Lakeville North (HS) in Minnesota, in which he helped lead the Panthers to an undefeated season and a Minnesota state championship.

Edquist's numbers were sparkling, as the netminder went 29-0 with a 1.30 goals-against average while posting a .940 save percentage. He also recorded eight shutouts.

The All-American Prospects Game, which features the top American-born players eligible for the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, will take place at First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York on Sept. 24. Last season, more than 30 USHL-bound players or USHL alumni participated in the game, including six players who would be drafted in the first round of the 2015 NHL Draft.
