Lumberjack players named to CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospect Game

MUSKEGON, Michigan (August 26th) - The Muskegon Lumberjacks are pleased to announce that defensemen Mitch Eliot and Alex Green have been selected for the 2015 CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospect Game.

The 4th Annual Prospect game, which will be held at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, is a showcase of the top American talent that will be eligible for the 2016 NHL Draft.

Lumberjack standout defenseman Mitch Eliot's selection comes as no surprise. Eliot, a Michigan State Univer- sity commit, appeared in 67 games for the jacks last season. Most recently, a few weeks ago, Eliot captained the United States U18 Select Team at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup in the Czech Republic. The combination of Eliot's leadership and defensive reliability makes Mitch a key guy in the Lumberjacks defensive core.

Chicago native Alex Green made his debut for the Lumberjacks last year, appearing in three games over the course of the season. Green spent last season playing defense for his home-town Chicago Mission Midget Mi- nor Team, and should be a great addition to the Lumberjacks squad this upcoming season. A Cornell University commit, Alex is expected to be a big contributor on the Jacks blue line.

Eliot and Green are only a couple of the USHL players that will be showcasing their skills at the Prospect Game. Of the 42 players selected for the All-American Prospect game, 33 have ties to the USHL, once again proving the league as the premier junior league in the country.
