San Angelo Colts News Release

Edinburg, Texas --- Edinburg Roadrunners' starter Curtis Camilli pitched a complete game, and led his team to a 3-1 victory over the San Angelo Colts Friday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.

Camilli (6-4) gave up a run on seven hits, and struck out a game-high seven batters for the win. Camilli's earned-run average is now third-best in the United League at 2.72. From the fifth inning on, Camilli allowed just three base runners.

The Roadrunners got out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning. First baseman Trevor White hit an RBI infield single in the first, and then right fielder Tim Battle and second baseman Fernando De Lo Santos both scored in the second.

Battle reached base on an infield single, and advanced to second when De Lo Santos drew a walk. A double steal allowed both runners to be in scoring position for shortstop Michael Haynes.

Haynes recorded an RBI ground out to third that plated Battle. De Lo Santos then scored from second on an RBI base hit by left fielder Jordan Etier.

The Colts responded with their only run in the top of the third inning. Shortstop Danny Hernandez hit a leadoff double, and came home on an RBI single by second baseman Jon Dziomba. Pitching dominated the rest of the game, though, as neither team scored after the third.

Despite a very strong outing, Colts' starter Demetrius Banks (4-2) suffered his second consecutive loss. He gave up three runs on nine hits in seven innings.

The victory improves Edinburg to 31-30, while the loss drops San Angelo to 27-31. This series continues with game three Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. The game can be heard live on 1260 KKSA beginning at 6:55 p.m.

The Colts conclude their seven-game road trip with a four-game set against the Edinburg Roadrunners from Thursday, July 25 through Sunday, July 28. The Colts then return home for a 15-game home stand on Tuesday, July 30. It will be the final home stand of the season for San Angelo.
