Camilli Pitches Roadrunners Past Colts

EDINBURG, Texas - Curtis Camilli pitched a complete game and allowed just one run leading the Edinburg Roadrunners past the San Angelo Colts 3-1 Friday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium for their third straight win.

Camilli (6-4) struck out seven while scattering seven hits earning his sixth win of the season.

Trevor Whyte gave the Roadrunners (31-30) the lead in the top of the first with an RBI single that allowed Travis Clark to score from third making it 1-0.

In the bottom of the second, Tim Battle led off with a single and then moved to second after a walk to Fernando De Los Santos. After a double steal put runners at second and third, Michael Haynes hit an RBI ground out scoring Battle from third. Jordan Itier then followed with an RBI single scoring De Los Santos from third extending Edinburg's lead 3-0.

The Colts (27-31) got on the score board in the top of the third. Jon Dziomba hit an RBI single that allowed Danny Hernandez to score cutting into the Roadrunners lead 3-1.

Demetrius Banks (4-2) took the tough-luck loss after pitching seven innings and allowing three runs while striking out three.

Camilli struck out Danny Hernandez to end the ball game giving Edinburg the 3-1 victory.

The Roadrunners and Colts will play game three of their four-game series Saturday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Saturday's promotion will feature a Rally Towel giveaway sponsored by AEP Texas where the first 1000 fans through the gates will receive one.
