HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. - The Edenton Steamers broke the Coastal Plain League single-season walks record Saturday night during a doubleheader with the Petersburg Generals.
Heading into their twin bill, Edenton had 258 walks and needed just five to break the old record of 262 set by Forest City in 2010. In game one, the Steamers got seven walks to break the record and then added another four in the second contest to bring their season total to 269 currently.
