
ECHL Mourns Loss Of Former Dayton Owner Johnson

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL and its member teams mourn the loss and express
their condolences to the family and friends of former Dayton Bombers owner
Arnold Johnson, who died Sunday at the age of 75 following a long battle
with cancer.
Johnson, who was inducted into the Dayton Hockey Hall of Fame in 2004, and
Ed Gingher were co-owners of the Bombers from the team's inception in 1990
until 1998.
"Arnold Johnson and Bud Gingher were very committed and dedicated to the
ECHL," said ECHL Commissioner Patrick J. Kelly. "Our thoughts and prayers
are with his family and friends during this difficult time."
Johnson is survived by his son and daughter-in law, Bradley and Masako
Johnson, brother, Forest Johnson, step daughter, Rhonda Cramer, and his
companion of 13 years, Carol Short.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Kindred Funeral Home
in Englewood, Ohio. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday
followed by internment at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American
Cancer Society in memory of Arnold Johnson.
