ECHL Announces Fines, Suspensions

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced on Sunday that Florida's Mitch Vandergunst and Jacksonville's Garet Hunt have each been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of their actions in ECHL Game #113, Florida at Jacksonville, on Nov. 3.

Both players were assessed major penalties for fighting and game misconducts under Rule #46.9 prior to the opening faceoff. They are suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Vandergunst and Hunt will miss the Jacksonville at Florida game on Nov. 9.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
