
Eastern League All-Star Game details announced

ALTOONA, PA - The Altoona Curve, host of the 2006 UPMC Health Plan Eastern League All-Star Game, today announced important ticket, parking and general information for Wednesday's E.L. All-Star Game and surrounding ballpark and community events.
Community events will begin on Sunday, July 9th at Noon with the All-Star Game Kickoff Party at the Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum, continue Tuesday with the All-Star Gala Event at Blair County Ballpark and conclude Wednesday night at 7:45 PM with the Eastern League All-Star Game, featuring post-game fireworks and a "Curvaritaville" party.
LIMITED ALL-STAR GAME TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE!
Fans wishing to attend the 2006 UPMC Health Plan Eastern League All-Star Game on Wednesday night at Blair County Ballpark can still purchase a limited number of standing room tickets for the game. Standing room tickets cost $7 and give fans the opportunity to get a great view of the game from the spacious first-level concourse area just behind the Diamond Club seating section, the left-field Party Deck and the Reliance Bank grass seating area (left field hillside).
Fans can purchase standing room tickets for the All-Star Game by visiting the BCB Ticket Office during regular weekday business hours or on Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM. Tickets can also be purchased by calling toll-free (877) 99-CURVE or at AltoonaCurve.com.
ALL-STAR GAME PARKING INFORMATION
The Curve have announced parking information for the 2006 UPMC Health Plan Eastern League All-Star Game. Fans headed to the ballpark for Wednesday's games will have the following regular parking options:
--> Park Avenue Parking Garage: Fans can park in the garage beyond left field at Blair County Ballpark
for the regular rate of $2, based on spacing availability.
--> Blair County Ballpark VIP Lot: Parking is available in the BCB VIP Lot by permit only, based on spacing availabilty.
In addition, the Curve have announced that a FREE shuttle service will be running from the Boscov's parking lot at the Logan Town Centre beginning at 4:30 PM on Wednesday the 12th and continuing one hour after the completion of the post-game fireworks show. Cars should use the 17th Street entrance to the Boscov's parking lot and shuttle service between Logan Town Centre and Blair County Ballpark will run continuously.
2006 E.L. ALL-STAR GALA EVENT SET FOR TUESDAY NIGHT AT BCB, TICKETS REMAIN
The signature event surrounding the 2006 UPMC Health Plan Eastern League All-Star Game is the E.L. All-Star Gala, which will be held Tuesday night at Blair County Ballpark. Gates will open at 5 PM for this special event, which will be highlighted by a concert by rock 'n roll icon Eddie Money. Money will be performing several hit songs from his 30-year music career, including his breakout hit "Two Tickets to Paradise", "Take Me Home Tonight", "Walk on Water", and others.
In addition to the music of Eddie Money, fans attending this casual event will enjoy elegant dining in a casual ballpark atmosphere with hors d'oeuvres, pasta, seafood, prime rib, vegetables, desserts, autographs and interaction with All-Star players, coaches and Eastern League executives and a spectacular fireworks display to cap the evening. Also, fans will be able to view the 2006 Major League Baseball All-Star Game from PNC Park in Pittsburgh on Blair County Ballpark's large 1,000 square foot videoboard.
Tickets for the Eastern League All-Star Gala cost $100 and tickets for the event remain on sale until Monday, July 10th at 5 PM. ALL-STAR WEEK EVENT ITINERARY AND IMPORTANT TIMES
SUNDAY, JULY 9
Noon-10 PM.... All-Star Game Kickoff Party @ Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum
The Altoona Railroader's Memorial Museum will hold this event in conjunction with the Curve. Events include a bubble gum blowing contest, whiffle ball home run hitting contest and a chance to become honorary batboy/batgirl for the All-Star Game. Entertainment will include a medley of local bands and visits by Steamer and Diesel Dawg. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for kids, and a family of four for $20.
TUESDAY, JULY 11
5:00............... All-Star Gala Event at Blair County Ballpark
Features a concert from rock icon Eddie Money, elegant dining in a casual ballpark atmosphere, interaction with All-Star players and coaches and E.L. executives, a viewing of the MLB All-Star Game and a spectacular post-event fireworks show. Tickets are $100 and are available thru Monday at 5 PM.
