
Earthquakes Sign F Steven Lenhart to New Contract

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has signed forward Steven Lenhart to a new contract. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"We are happy to sign Steven to a new contract," said Earthquakes head coach Dominic Kinnear. "When Steven is playing and being productive, we all know the team benefits from that. We're looking forward to a productive season from him in 2015."
Lenhart, 28, is a seven-year MLS veteran with 33 goals and 12 assists in 135 games. Twenty of those goals and eight assists have come during his four years with San Jose. He was a key component for an Earthquakes squad that won the 2012 Supporters' Shield, recording a career-high 10 goals and two assists. He provided a number of memorable moments during that season, including a 98th-minute equalizer against the Chicago Fire on July 28 and a 93rd-minute game-winner against Seattle on Aug. 11. Lenhart is tied for No. 7 on the club's all-time goals list.
He started his career with the Columbus Crew after playing collegiately for Azusa Pacific. He was also a member of the Crew's 2008 MLS Cup Championship squad.
