San Jose Earthquakes News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose Earthquakes goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski was named to the Major League Soccer Team of the Week for Week 16. Marcinkowski made three saves to help San Jose prevail 1-0 over first-place Seattle Sounders FC and the league's top scorer Raul Ruidiaz on Saturday afternoon.
Marcinkowski, 24, earned his second shutout of the season, leading the Quakes to their first victory over Seattle since June 2015. Marcinkowski has now allowed no more than one goal in four consecutive matches, guiding the club to a five-match unbeaten streak.
Marcinkowski, who has played every minute for the Earthquakes in 2021, is the youngest goalkeeper in MLS with at least 10 starts this season.
