The Quakes play four of their first six matches at home to start the season, including matches against RSL, Seattle Sounders FC, Toronto FC and Chivas USA at Buck Shaw Stadium. The Quakes then play Wednesday, Sept. 21 at the expansion Portland Timbers and Saturday, Sept. 24 at the defending MLS Cup Champion Colorado Rapids.
Marquee homestands include the return of Southern California rival the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday, June 25 and a match with the Houston Dynamo on Saturday, June 4, which will be aired live on Galavision. Additionally, Thierry Henry, Rafael Márquez and the New York Red Bulls will head to the Bay Area for a Fourth of July weekend match on Saturday, July 2 that will be televised live on ESPN2.
The Quakes get their first crack at redemption for their 2010 Eastern Conference Championship loss to the Rapids on Saturday, Aug. 13 at Buck Shaw Stadium. Other matches to note include the arrival of a pair of expansion franchises, Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Wednesday, July 20 and the Portland Timbers on Saturday, August 6.
To close its 2011 campaign, San Jose will play four of its final six matches away, including the previously mentioned three-game road trip. Following the trifecta of away games, the Quakes face Omar Bravo and Sporting Kansas City at home on Saturday, Oct. 1, Sounders FC on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Qwest Field in Seattle and finish with FC Dallas on Saturday, Oct. 22 at home.
No league matches have been scheduled on the FIFA fixture dates of Aug. 10, Sept. 3-4 and Oct. 8-9.
