San Jose (Tuesday, August 19, 2003) - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has acquired a first round selection in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft and a third and fourth round pick in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft from the Colorado Rapids in exchange for goalkeeper Joe Cannon.

"We are happy to be able to get good value for Joe with a first round draft choice and two additional picks," said Earthquakes head coach Frank Yallop. "With these draft picks, we can add some young, quality players in the draft next year."
