MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (34-30) went hitless over the final five innings, but six runs on 11 hits over the game's first four innings were plenty in a 6-3 win over the Huntsville Stars (33-33) Wednesday at Joe Davis Stadium.

The Biscuits brought ten men to the plate in a five-run second inning against Huntsville starter Josh Stinson (7-4). A Brett Nommensen single began the frame, with a Hak-Ju Lee single beginning the scoring. Omar Luna would follow with a two-run double before a Ryan Garko RBI-single finished the outburst.

Luna would add another RBI-double in the fourth to cap the Biscuits scoring. Luna and Garko paced the Biscuits out of the middle of the order, both collecting three hits and combining for four RBI. After stranding the bases loaded in the first, the Biscuits went 6-10 with men in scoring position.

Huntsville got two runs in the third and a run in the fourth, but stranded ten on-base.

Biscuits starter Jake Thompson (4-5) grabbed the win, holding the Stars to three runs (two earned) over five innings of work. Marquis Fleming and Kirby Yates would combine to hurl four shutout relief frames, with Yates (4) going two innings to earn the save.

RHP Alex Colome will start for the Biscuits in game two Thursday against Huntsville LHP Dan Merklinger. First pitch is scheduled for 6:43.
