The duality of baseball was on display as Inland Empire (49-52, 16-15) second baseman Franklin Torres had a monster game at the plate drilling a pair of homers and knocking home three in a three-hit game; he also made both errors in the sixth on tailor-made double-play balls that ended up netting the Sixers zero outs.

Later in the frame Alberto Triunfel delivered a two-run single on an 0-2 pitch. Torres then drilled a two-run shot in the third to center field for a 5-1 lead. The Ports got two back in the bottom of the third. Edwin Diaz' solo homer leading off the fifth chased 66ers' starter Erik Manoah and trimmed the lead to 5-4. In the sixth against reliever Kida De La Cruz (1-3) Ports leadoff batter reached on a single. Chase Calabuig then hit a bouncer to second and Torres made a throwing error. The next batter hit a grounder to third for another double play ball and Torres missed the catch at second allowing a run to score to tie the game.
