Indiana Mad Ants News Release

FORT WAYNE, IN. - Fort Wayne Mad Ants' starting point guard Earl Calloway had been named to the 2007-2008 Gatorade All-NBA Development League Honorable Mention team.

The Indiana University alumn has had a standout rookie season and has proven to fans and coaches all across the D-League that he is one of the League's top point guards. Calloway currently ranks 10th in scoring average, 7th in assists, 4th in steals, and 4th in free throw percentage among league leaders.

"Earl is one of the most explosive point guards in the D-League, and in my opinion he is a top prospect for a long career in the NBA," said Mad Ants President Jeff Potter. "He has been a great player for the Mad Ants, but better yet he has been a great person to have as a part of our organization. We are very grateful that he has played such a huge part in our inaugural season."

Calloway came off the bench during the first two games of the season for the Ants but had a break out performance on November 29th where he scored 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists to help him win his starting position. He is currently averaging 19.5 points, 5.7 assists, and 2 steals per game for the Mad Ants. Calloway has recorded 7 double-doubles this season and four 30+ point game performances including a season and franchise high of 44 points on March 22nd against the Dakota Wizards.

The Mad Ants will wrap up their inaugural season this Friday and Saturday, April 11th and 12th as the take on the Dakota Wizards at the Memorial Coliseum. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. for both games.
