Thursday, January 4 Eagles 5 vs. Arizona Sundogs 3

Ed McGrane had a hat-trick including two shorthanded goals as the Colorado Eagles beat the Arizona Sundogs 5-3 at the Budweiser Events Center for their 12th straight victory. The string of wins ties the team's and Central Hockey League's all-time mark for consecutive wins. Seth Leonard added a goal and two assists and Marco Emond stopped 28 of 31 shots for his ninth consecutive win between the pipes. For Arizona, Brent Kelly had a goal and an assist and Cory Stillman tallied two assists in the loss.

Friday, January 5 Eagles 4 vs. Youngstown SteelHounds 2

The Eagles set a Central Hockey League record with their 13th straight victory Friday night at the Budweiser Events Center. Colorado beat the Youngstown SteelHounds 4-2 led by Aaron Schneekloth's two goals and Fraser Filipic's two assists. The win also marked Eagles' Head Coach Chris Stewart's 316 CHL victory putting him alone in second place on the all-time list. Ed McGrane and Riley Nelson added the other two goals for Colorado and Tim Boron won his fourth consecutive start in net. Jeff Christian scored a goal for Youngstown extending his scoring streak to 17 games and John Neal scored the other goal for the SteelHounds

Saturday, January 6 Eagles 5 vs. Rocky Mountain Rage 2

The Eagles extended their Central Hockey League-record winning streak to 14 games Saturday night with a 5-2 win over the Rage at the Budweiser Events Center. Five different players had a goal and three players had two assists for the Eagles who improve their record to 25-4-0 and remain in first place in the CHL. The game marked the Eagles 17th consecutive win at home and 127th consecutive sellout at the Budweiser Events Center (including playoffs).

Week Ahead

Tuesday, January 9 at Oklahoma City, 6:05 p.m. MST Radio: 107.9 The Bear

The Eagles and Blazers will meet for the first time this season on Tuesday night. The last time the teams met was in the first round of the playoffs last season in which Colorado beat the Blazers in seven games to advance to the Northern Conference Finals. The Eagles hold an 11-6-2 all-time regular season record against the Blazers including 5-2-1 last season.

Friday, January 12 at Memphis RiverKings, 6:05 p.m. MST Radio: 107.9 The Bear

In a battle between the top two teams in the CHL, Colorado leads the RiverKings by just three points for the overall lead in the league. This is the first of two meetings this season, Memphis will travel to Colorado for a game on February 7 at the BEC. Memphis is the only team in the CHL to have a .500 winning percentage against the Eagles, they are 5-5-1 all-time vs. Colorado.

Saturday, January 13 at Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, 6:05 p.m. MST Radio: 107.9 The Bear

The Eagles head to Bossier for the last game before the Mudbugs host the All-Star Game at the CenturyTel Center. This is the first meeting between the two teams since the Mudbugs ousted Colorado from the playoffs last season winning the Northern Conference Finals in five games. Colorado is 7-3-1 all-time against the Mudbugs during the regular season. They play two more times this season, both games are at the Budweiser Events Center on February 14 and February 17.

Record Breakers- The Eagles broke the Central Hockey League record for consecutive wins on Friday night against the Youngstown SteelHounds with their 13th consecutive win. They followed that up with their 14th win in a row on Saturday in a 5-2 win over the Rocky Mountain Rage.

Special Teams- The Eagles special teams have been very special this season. Colorado's power play is first in the league converting on 23.3% of their chances and their penalty killing unit is fourth in the league killing 85.8% of their penalties. When the Eagles are on the penalty kill, they have given up 37 goals to their opponents, but they have also scored 23 shorthanded goals. Colorado is just five shorthanded goals away from breaking the CHL record of 27 set by the Dallas Freeze in 1997-98.

Home Heavy- The Eagles have already played 18 games at home this season and only 11 games on the road. Colorado will play three more games on the road next week before the All-Star break. The Eagles will have to play four more road games than home games during the second half of the season.

Moving on Up- Eagles head coach Chris Stewart moved up to second place on the CHL's all-time wins list on Friday night by winning his 316th game. He moved ahead of Austin's Bill McDonald.
