
Eagles Re-Sign Larson

WINDSOR, CO - The Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League made two announcements today at their corporate office in Windsor. First, the defending Governor's Cup Champions announced the re-signing of forward Garrett Larson, and second the team unveiled their marketing campaign for the 2006-07 season, "The Eagles Strike Back."
Larson, a 6'3", 200-pound forward played his rookie season for the Eagles in 2005-06 finishing third in the league among rookies with 47 points (22-25-47). The Park River, North Dakota native had a season-high four-point game against the Tulsa Oilers on December 21, 2005 scoring two goals and two assists. Prior to coming to the Eagles, Larson played college hockey for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and Saint Cloud State University. In his first three seasons at Saint Cloud State, Larson played in 48 games recording 12 goals and four assists. In his senior season, he played Division III hockey at River Falls where he led the team in all statistical scoring categories with 20 goals, 22 assists and 42 points in just 28 games.
"I hope Garrett can build on his outstanding rookie season," said Eagles Head Coach Chris Stewart.
Eagles Unveil Marketing Campaign
The Colorado Eagles have unveiled their 2006-07 marketing campaign as, "The Eagles Strike Back" based on the Star Wars movies. For the entire season, the team will focus it's advertising, game operations and promotions around this slogan as the team tries to regain the President's Cup title. The Eagles have begun dispersal of their pocket schedules and movie-themed posters throughout Northern Colorado and will continue to promote the upcoming 2006-07 season as the one in which, "The Eagles Strike Back."
"We are excited with our new marketing campaign for the upcoming season," said Eagles President Ralph Backstrom. "This is a great way for our fans to come together as a part of the Eagles' team in their quest of regaining the cup."
Colorado will also introduce theme nights for five home games this season. The team has plans for a Kid's Night, Military Night, Hawaiian Night, 70's/Disco Night and Fan Appreciation Night in which all of the game's promotions and entertainment will be geared towards those themes.
The Eagles begin their fourth season of play with two exhibition games against the Arizona Sundogs on October 13th and 14th at the Budweiser Events Center. The home opener is against the Rocky Mountain Rage on October 20th at the Budweiser Events Center. Tickets go on sale on September 23rd at all Eagles' ticket outlets.
