NOTES FROM THE GAME

- A late first period goal from Lyam Jacques opened the scoring for Rimouski and stood up as the winner as the Eagles fell 4-0 to the Océanic at Centre 200 on Friday night.

- Patrik Hamrla stopped all 30 Eagles shots in the shutout, while Nicolas Ruccia stopped 25 of 29 in the loss for the Eagles.

- It was CBU night at the Nest, and the Eagles were special orange and green jerseys that were raffled off in support of the Canada Games Complex.

- The Eagles recalled forward Callum Aucoin for the game. In his QMJHL debut he was -1, with one shot on goal, one hit, and took one minor penalty.

Jacques opened the scoring with just nine seconds left in the opening period, scoring from the right side of the goal after some nice stickhandling from Alexandre Blais opened up the middle of the ice. And after scoring in the final minute of the first period, the visitors scored in the opening minute of the second period, as Julien Béland made it 2-0 at the 42 second mark.

Prior to the halfway mark of regulation the Océanic were buzzing again and after a scramble in front Cory MacGillivray made it 3-0. In the late stages of the period, Quinn Kennedy would finalise the scoring, receiving a pass on the left wing and completing a highlight reel deke around Ruccia to make it 4-0 Rimouski.

Opportunities were hard to come by for both teams in the third period as Rimouski outshot Cape Breton 6-4, securing the shutout for Hamrla.

The Eagles will play their final home game before their six road trip on Sunday as they host the Charlottetown Islanders. Puck drop is 3 PM. Tickets can be purchased at https://bit.ly/3XiK3G1.
