WASHINGTON, Pa.- The Riverhounds Football Club suffered a 4-0 playoff loss Friday night to the Charlotte Eagles at Falconi Field. The match was the first of a two-match series in the United Soccer Leagues Second Division Semifinals.

The defending champion Eagles got off to a quick lead with a goal by defender Benjamin Meek in the second minute. Forward Dustin Swinehart earned the assist for the goal. Charlotte's three remaining goals on the night would come in the second half. Many different players contributed with defender Josh Rife scoring in the 59th minute off a Jacob Coggins assist. Five minutes later in the 64th minute, forward Andrew Budnyyr scored off a pass from midfielder Patrick Daka. The Eagles would earn their fourth and final goal of the night in the 86th minute, when forward Adam Ruud scored the goal and Benjamin Johnson picking up the assist.

Despite the loss, the Riverhounds earned themselves many opportunities at the Charlotte net in the first half with 12 shot attempts. However, with the combination of several shots hitting the post and Eagles' goalkeeper Dan Benton's ten saves on the night, the HOUNDS® could not score a goal.

The two teams meet again tomorrow evening at Waddell Stadium in Charlotte, NC for a second playoff match-up. To advance in the playoffs, the Riverhounds must score at least four goals in the match. First kick is at 7:00 p.m.
