Glens Falls Dragons News Release

Glens Falls: In a wet game the Mohawk Valley Diamonddawgs and Golden Eagles were able to play into the bottom of the 4th inning and Glens Falls led 6-4 before Mother Nature let loose and drowned East Field.

The Dawgs Lukas Godlewski (Herkimer CC) and Glens Falls' Mike Harrington (Herkimer CC) were called on to pitch in the rain and Godlewski wasn't able to toss up zeroes like his counterpart.

The Eagles got the scoring started in the first inning as they loaded the bases against Godlewski and Brandon Purcell (Georgia College) drove home the first run of the game with a single. Ryan Hooper (UC Davis) would bring home another run then the Eagles used a delayed steal of home to plate the 3rd run of the inning.

Glens Falls would tack on 3 more runs in the second inning as Kaleb Holbrook (Thomas Univ.) led off the inning with a towering shot to right. Colton Montgomery (Georgia College) brought home a second run on a sac fly before Purcell singled to left and a fielding error brought home the final run for the Eagles.

Mohawk Valley started coming back in the top of the 4th as they scored 4 against Mike Harrington. The Dawgs worked the bases loaded and Harrington issued a full count walk to Colin Hawk (Cincinatti) which plated the first run of the game for Mohawk Valley. Mike Triller (Clemson) brought home a run on a single up the middle and Gus Craig plated 2 with another single.

That brought up the bottom of the 4th inning. JQ Folena (Cabrillo) led off the inning with a double off the top of the wall in left center and a strike out to Montogomery essentially finished the game as shortly after the pitch was delivered the umpires waved the players off the field.

These two teams do not see each other again during the Regular season.
