Houston Dynamo FC News Release
The Houston Dynamo and Chicago Fire drew 0-0 on Tuesday night at BBVA Compass Stadium. The Dynamo (6-5-6; 24 points) remain in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, four points behind the Fire (8-5-4; 28 points).
The Dynamo remain unbeaten (4-0-3) at BBVA Compass Stadium in competitive matches and extended their home unbeaten streak to 16 games since their last home defeat, June 18, 2011.
It was the sixth sellout through eight games at BBVA Compass Stadium.
Tally Hall earned his 12th career shutout and his fifth clean sheet of the season.
Chances were limited for both teams, with Macoumba Kandji and Will Bruin having the best opportunities in the first half for Houston.
In the eighth minute a scramble in the box resulted in Kandji with a clear chance from the right side of the area from 12 yards. His shot missed the near post by a few yards as the game remained scoreless.
A minute before halftime, Bruin received a cross from Corey Ashe and rose to win the header eight yards from goal, but his header sailed a foot wide of the post for the nearest Dynamo miss of the night.
Hall's lone save of the night came in the 12th minute. Marco Pappa slipped free on the edge of the box and took a shot that Hall saved with ease at the near post.
It was Ashe's 185th appearance in all competitions for the Dynamo to pass Brian Mullan and move into second on the all-time list.
Brian Ching entered as substitute for his 184th Dynamo appearance in all competitions to tie Brian Mullan for second on the franchise list.
It was Dynamo midfielder Adam Moffat's 75th career MLS game.
The Dynamo next travel to Kansas City for a match with Sporting Kansas City (9-2-5; 29 points) on Friday at 7 p.m. CT. The game is a rematch of the 2011 Eastern Conference final, a 2-0 Dynamo victory.
