Houston Dynamo FC News Release

The Houston Dynamo and Toronto FC played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night at BBVA Compass Stadium. Will Bruin delivered an early lead for Houston, but Terry Dunfield secured Toronto's late equalizer to steal a road point for the visitors.

The Dynamo extended their home unbeaten streak to 21 regular season home games (22 including playoffs). It is the longest steak in franchise history and the third longest streak in MLS history. If the Dynamo win or draw in their next home game, against Real Salt Lake on Sept. 6, they will equal the Columbus Crew for the second longest streak in league history.

Bruin secured a 1-0 lead for the Dynamo in the 21st minute. Honduras international Boniek Garcia dribbled past several Toronto defenders in the middle of the field before driving a sharp pass to the feet of Bruin at the top of the Toronto penalty area. Bruin beat his defender and chipped a shot over Toronto 'keeper Freddy Hall for an early lead.

It was Bruin's 11th goal of the season. The second-year forward is now two goals shy of Brian Ching's single-season franchise goal record of 13, set in 2008. It was also Bruin's 50th career regular season game, with the forward tallying an impressive haul of 16 goals in his first 50 games.

It was Garcia's fifth assist in 11 games since his Dynamo debut on June 30.

Toronto secured the late equalizer off a late throw-in. Darren O'Dea received the throw and served in a cross into the box, where Dunfield headed it past Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall.

It was Bobby Boswell's 137th MLS regular season start with Dynamo to pass Pat Onstad for second on the franchise list.

It was Brian Ching's 150th regular season game with the Dynamo. It was also his 25th game of the season, equaling a career-high, set in 2008 and 2004.

It was Andre Hainault and Ricardo Clark's 100th regular season game with Houston. It was also Corey Ashe's 100th regular season start with the Dynamo, as he tied Geoff Cameron for sixth on the franchise list.

It was Brad Davis' 225th game with the Dynamo in all competitions. He is the franchise leader.

The Dynamo (11-6-9; 42 points) remain in third place in the Eastern Conference, four points behind leaders Sporting Kansas City.
