Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON, TX (Friday, April 10, 2009) - The Houston Dynamo will play their first home game in three weeks Saturday night, looking for revenge against the team that knocked Houston out of last year's MLS Cup playoffs: the New York Red Bulls.
Saturday's game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and features an Orange U-Nite theme, with fans encouraged to wear orange to the stadium. The first 7,500 fans through the gates will receive a free orange Dynamo T-shirt, courtesy of Continental Airlines.
The Dynamo (0-2-1) held a historical edge in the series against the Red Bulls (0-2-1) until New York handed Houston a 3-0 defeat at Robertson Stadium in last year's playoffs, eliminating the two-time defending champion on a 4-1 aggregate score.
New York's key players are Colombian forward Juan Pablo Angel and Jamaican midfielder Dane Richards, who each scored in last year's playoff series. The Dynamo will have forwards Brian Ching and Kei Kamara available, and the duo could start together for the first time in this MLS season. Ching has scored six goals in eight career regular season games against the Red Bulls, and he has tallied 14 times in his last 21 regular season games.
The Houston Dynamo are a Major League Soccer franchise that has won two MLS Cup championships in its first three seasons and represented the United States in three consecutive regional championships. The Dynamo return home on Saturday, April 11, for a 7:30 p.m. game against the New York Red Bulls at Robertson Stadium. Be sure to ask about the new Texas Children's Health Plan Family Section.
