Nate Easley continued his hitting streak to start his professional career. The 23rd round pick extended his hit streak to four games with a single in the seventh inning.
Three pitchers made their professional debuts in the loss. Mark Zimmerman and Evan Miller did not allow a run in relief for the Dust Devils. Joey Lucchesi, who led the nation in strikeouts this spring at Southeast Missouri State, tossed three innings and allowed two runs in his first pro outing.
Braxton Lorenzini will start the middle game of the three-game series with the Indians on Tuesday night. Spokane will counter with left-hander Sal Mendez. It will be Post-game Bread Giveaway Night presented by Bimbo Bakeries.
