Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The Tri-City Dust Devils (2-3) were held to three hits on Tuesday night at Gesa Stadium as the team lost 8-3 to the Spokane Indians (3-2). The Dust Devils were able to draw a season-high 11 walks, but the team left 13 runners stranded.
For the second straight day, Tri-City fell behind 5-0 to Spokane after the second inning. Starting pitcher Braxton Lorenzini (0-1) did not make it out of the second inning for the Dust Devils. After not allowing a run in the first inning, Lorenzini surrendered five earned runs to the Indians in the second inning.
Alan Garcia and Taylor Kohlwey combined to drive in the team's three runs in the third inning. Garcia had two hits to lead the team at the plate. It was a balanced effort for Spokane on offense. The Indians came away with ten hits against Tri-City's pitching staff.
Diomar Lopez was impressive in relief for the Dust Devils. Lopez recorded the final out in the second inning and went on to throw three additional scoreless frames out of the bullpen.
Tri-City will send right-hander Emmanuel Ramirez to the mound on Wednesday night in the series final. Right-hander Kyle Cody will start for the Indians. It will be School Night and Weenie Wednesday presented by Pahlisch Homes. Hot dogs will be available for only $1 throughout the night. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
